MobieTrainers prepared to unveil their Values to the world – only to realise we’d been living them all along.

You’ve heard about corporate values before, a few little words that define a company’s course of action and the culture of its team. Companies want to achieve something – that’s their mission. How they will achieve it is their value.

In the best cases, values tell the outside world what makes a team special; in the worst, they’re some empty buzzwords written and forgotten (did you know Communication, Respect, Integrity, and Excellence were the values of ENRON of all companies? Ouch!).

Values are usually defined from the top down: since management and founders know a company’s mission inside and out, it makes sense that they’d set out its values, too.

But we do things differently, don’t we?

In a series of workshops, the entire MobieTrain team put all of our brains together to understand what makes it so easy to recognize each other. When a new Mobile Trainer joins the team, it already feels like they’re part of our big little family. We asked each other: what about us sets us apart?

We know our values were meant to spell out who we were, not who we wanted to be. They’re not aspirational. They’re a description of what makes each team member unique. Why? Because people make the culture, not the other way around.

So, we got together and asked ourselves: what about each of us makes us MobieTrainers?

Team spirit

Our Team spirit: We embrace TEAM SPIRIT by working cooperatively and respecting each other.

We know we are bigger than the sum of our parts: we harvest a true feeling of respect, trust and pride for our teammates, clients, and partners. We work with people we believe in and who we can learn from, and vice-versa.

Care

Caring: We CARE by listening and supporting our colleagues, clients, partners and society.

We know it’s hip to ‘care’ – but MobieTrainers mean this. We see each other as complex people with varied interests to ensure we feel appreciated, valued and heard.

Ambition

Our Ambition: We are AMBITIOUS by letting challenges inspire us, facing our goals courageously and growing constantly.

Ambition doesn’t have to be a ‘dirty’ word: MobieTrainers are ambitious because we take ownership of our targets and we chase our goals creatively! We don’t see problems. We see solutions!

Transparency

Our Transparency: We are TRANSPARENT by establishing clear, regular, and respectful communication with all stakeholders. 

We believe in the power of regular, open, and honest communication. Why? Having all the information we need out in the open allows us to be more creative and proactive and work smarter.

Bravery

Our Bravery: We are BRAVE because we think big, act now, and improve tomorrow!

We were born from bravery: in the beginning, not too long ago, we came out of the woodwork with a revolutionary solution.

It was different, it was scary – but here we are! Since then, we never stopped facing challenges courageously. It’s in our DNA.

Flexibility

Our Flexibility: We are FLEXIBLE by adapting to change and rising to internal and external challenges.

Every start-up on the block knows this: flexibility is the name of the game.

But what does it mean for us? We know that change makes us stronger, and we rejoice in being a different person every stay. It keeps us strong and adaptable, a force to be reckoned with!

Living our values

And that’s all; we packed our bags and went our separate ways, never to speak of our values again…

Of course not! Writing down our values was the tip of the iceberg.

Now, we’re focused on living them: being there for each other when problems arise, inspiring each other to be better and to take on bigger challenges, asking questions freely and openly, crafting the right answers so nothing gets lost in translation, adjusting and improving wherever we can, growing fast to keep up with this ever-changing world, listening to everyone because we understand that every person matters. That every person can make a difference.

Specially someone like us.
